abstract art, a systems view

Triptych

Something I have been working on for a submission. (I have yet to find a good space where the lighting is even across all three surfaces for a decent photo of the three canvases joined together, so here’s a digital mock-up.)

  1. I Love it! Have you stained the cavas? It seems so spiritual. seeing yet not seeing. Nothing yet everyting.

    • thanks Geoff. good of you to comment. It’s not really meant to be spiritual but it is difficult not to read those meanings in (the meaning of a communication is always the response received rather than the message intended). Also it lends itself well to meditation and some think of that as spiritual too. And yes I think you would call it staining, the paint is very fluid and i apply it with a brush very quickly – it’s acrylic – it dries very quickly so its a mad dash to complete it before the first application dries. The gestural mark on the blue one is a ‘mistake’ I allowed that band of paint to dry too soon.
