About
Andy Parkinson lives and works in Nottingham as a learning consultant and as a visual artist. whilst these two professional lives are quite separate, they intersect at the juncture of systems thinking.
Learning in an organisational context requires a systems thinking approach. both the learner and the organisation in which they learn are systems. The paintings are also systems, exploring themes of identity and similarity, repetition and the impossibility of repetition and the impossibility of repetition. These are ‘abstract themes’ in the sense that they are inherent and intrinsic.

I like what your doing. Great blog and website. I enjoyed seeing the Frost prints you’re lucky to be in a work space with work by such a great artist. I look forward to future posts.

Interested in learning more about this “systems thinking.” An artist friend has recently introduced me to VTS (visual thinking strategy). There is so much to learn…

Hi Barbara
Thanks for your comment
and I agree, so much to learn, so little time to learn it, and there’s always more to learn, and thankfully you can learn from anything.
I am working on some posts especially about systems thinking and attempting to make the connection to the art work
one of the things I have noticed is that when people use the word ‘system’ they can be referring to so many different things – no doubt connected in some way – though sometimes very different.

Hi Andy, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I thought you might be interested in looking at Gloria Petyarre. She is an aboriginal artist but her work is mesmerising. Amazing op art effects that come from her dreaming. Found your blog fascinating. Cheers Sue

If you look at your blog, as seen by others, but by clicking on the title of your blog page, and then page down to the tags, and then click on any tag, you will find blogs by others that used the same tag recently. So you are almost bound to find blogs that interest you. Every day I tag-surf mostly on ‘art’ and there are always some interesting blogs. Yours was one of the ones I saw and liked today. That’s how I found your blog. And you are very welcome!
