  1. How ‘automatic’ then, and why on tracing paper? I like it a lot…

    • Hi John, thanks for your question! Glad you like the drawing. It is automatic in this way: I wanted to draw the design with the pen in contact with the paper the whole time and tracing each line only once. I thought of myself as programming an automaton, working out how it could be done ‘automatically’. I could have drawn it directly onto squared paper but I chose instead to use tracing paper over the top. I like the look of permanent marker on tracing paper and I want to be able to overlay drawings one on top of the other later… watch this space.
